Gentle Actions for when Things Feel Heavy

In conversations with friends, clients, and community members, we have heard a common refrain: the last couple of weeks have felt heavy, influenced by what is happening locally and globally, and by cold and flu season at home.

As a result, I wanted to share a few possibilities we can explore, if there's a feeling of heaviness in your sphere, as well.

  1. We can practice a gentle approach.

  2. We can give a few gifts that don't cost any money.

  3. We can communicate clearly, often, and with empathy.

  4. We can make a note of someone's preferred beverage or the way they like their coffee, and drop one on their desk (or front stoop).

  5. We can revisit our values, and use them to guide our decisions.

  6. We can embrace the words of Jane Goodall and decide what kind of difference we want to make.

  7. We can choose calm amidst chaos, and act with intention from that place.

  8. We can give a gift to our future self.

  9. We can notice the beauty around us.

  10. We can offer our natural gifts to make someone else's day better and easier, and possibly even be a day maker.

Just a few possibilities to start with.

What would you add?
