Cultivating the Season Ahead

Does it feel like spring where you are?

Or, were you navigating snow and icy roads this week?

As we step into spring, we can look to the world of gardening to reflect on the various dimensions of our work and life.

We might consider:

What do we want to plant

  • Ideas, habits, or projects that we are ready to initiate

What do we need to water?

  • Projects, relationships, or areas of  life that could use some nurturing or attention

What do we need to relocate, rotate,  or replanted?

  • Things that we want to keep, but that need to be redesigned or modified or restructured or moved to a new context

What do we need to weed?

  • Things that are no longer serving us, or that are getting in the way of the flowers peeking through

And, what is ready to harvest?

  • Projects that are complete, milestones to celebrate, or endings that are ready for conscious closure.

What comes to mind as you consider these questions?

And, are you eyeing up any new plantings this spring, whether literal or metaphorical?

Wherever you are in the world, I am wishing you a sense of renewal as we step into the weekend ahead.
