What is Executive Coaching?

What is executive coaching?

ICF defines coaching as partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential. Coaching can be a powerful process for creating positive change and oftentimes radical transformation in our lives unlocking untapped sources of imagination, productivity, and leadership.

Executive coaching is intended for senior managers or leaders (such as a director, vice president, president, or member of the C-suite) and involves co-creating a sacred container for some of the most important, complex, and challenging conversations. In partnership, the coach is able to help the leader peel back the layers to get to the core of the things they’re grappling with, explore what’s possible and what will have the greatest impact, and create a concrete plan to move those things forward.

How can executive coaching help?

We have heard clients describing this process as “work therapy,” and “some of the most important work they’ve ever done.” Meanwhile, a study conducted by MetrixGlobal LLC found that coaching produced a 529% return on investment and significant intangible benefits to the business, including improved morale and increased job satisfaction.

Over the years, ICF Global Coaching Client Studies have shown that clients report:

  • improved work performance

  • better business management

  • more efficient time management

  • enhanced relationships and increased team effectiveness

  • greater self-confidence

  • more effective communications skills

  • better work-and-life balance and an improvement in wellness

Another study, this one conducted by Manchester Inc. found that executive coaching led to an average return on investment of 5.7 times the initial investment, with benefits including improved productivity, quality, organizational strength, and customer service.

The International Coach Federation echoes the same data, observing that companies who provided coaching to their employees saw a median return on investment of 7 times the initial investment, with almost 90% of companies reporting that they had recouped their investment. To put it simply, nearly all companies or individuals who hire a coach are satisfied.

How can Zing Collaborative HELP?

Together with executives who are passionate, committed, highly engaged, and who are excited about the idea of a thought partner and advocate to explore incredibly important topics and questions, we work to support Expansive Impact within their organizations.

In order to help achieve the above results, we offer group or 1:1 sessions for teams and individuals to think creatively and strategically, outside of the chaos of everyday rhythms.
